Ex-CEO of BNP Paribas Indonesia joins Singapore IAM

The former head of country for Indonesia and CEO of PT Bank BNP Paribas Indonesia has joined SingAlliance, an independent wealth management company founded in Singapore, Asian Private Banker has learnt.

Luc Cardyn joined SingAlliance on 10 February as senior advisor. Cardyn has 37 years of experience in the banking industry. He has held leading roles at BNP Paribas, including global head of bond syndication. He obtained a bank license in Hanoi to spearhead the French lender’s business in Vietnam while he was the CEO and country manager in 2008. He was the head of country for Indonesia and CEO of PT Bank BNP Paribas Indonesia before he left the bank at the end of 2019.

“Luc’s wealth of experience is a great addition to our team, as we continue to strengthen our wealth management capabilities in the region as part of SingAlliance group’s growth plan,” said Thierry Beck, CEO of SingAlliance.

Founded in 2011, SingAlliance is an asset and wealth management firm with offices in Singapore and Geneva. It is licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA).

The rapid growth of independent asset managers is attracting senior bankers to join the industry. Philippe Kerkhoven, Bank of Singapore’s former head of international markets, and Rebekah Chuan, EFG’s former Asia head of portfolio management, co-founded Pangaea Wealth Pte. Ltd. Last year, Peter Stertzenbach, a director at Standard Chartered Private Bank joined Odyssey Asset Management, a Hong Kong-based alternatives asset manager.
